The Basic Simple Ingredients:
Organic Raw Canadian Honey
AND
Raw Fresh Pressed Garlic
AND
Fresh Pressed Lemon Juice
The Science Behind it!
The Organic Raw Canadian Honey has antimicrobial and antibiotic properties in its enzymes that help to fight the underlying issues as well as help the body to reset its natural balance. It also has a soothing and calming effect on the throat as it coats the throat on its way down.
Fresh Pressed Raw Garlic is so crazy powerful for killing major germs and infections as long as it is NOT HEATED or cooked! Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice is the final necessary component of this homemade cough syrup for so many reasons. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is actually high in vitamin C, anti-viral and antibacterial properties and would you believe it actually alkalines the blood helping to get the body more alkaline? It also soothes the throat along with the honey telling the throat blood vessels to shrink down minimizing the cough trigger.

The Best Natural DIY Cough Syrup
What You Need:
- Organic Raw Canadian Honey and probably use about 1/4 cup or however much you want to start.
- Raw Fresh Pressed Garlic (use however much you want based on taste…our family goes a bit overboard and tends to use 4-6 cloves).
- Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (since our family goes overboard on the garlic, I tend to use lots of lemons to lessen the bite of the raw garlic so I probably use 2 whole lemons).
THE PROCESS
1. Put your Organic Raw Canadian Honey on the counter to soften up (we live in the deep south where we can’t keep it in the pantry due to our ants coming out to devour it even when triple packaged inside Ziplocs) for about 15-20 minutes. Once it has softened, stir it up and pour the desired amount into a container that can have a lid attached (we use our kitchen glass storage containers).
2. Grab however many garlic cloves you want (start small and you can always add more as you taste it as you go) and press the cloves right into the honey. Stir it up.
3. Grab however many lemons you like and wash them well before cutting in half. Squeeze or juice out the juice directly into the honey garlic mixture. Stir it up.
4. Once stirred, taste it and add more garlic and lemon as you like. There really isn’t a perfect measurement to this, but instead what works for your family.
5. Once desired taste is achieved, enjoy it by the spoonful as often as you like to knock that cough or sore throat down to its knees!
6. It can be left on the counter with lid on top to keep the air from getting to it or the ants as well.
OPTIONAL STEP!
7. Add 1-2 capfuls of Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) for additional health benefits. Only add that much to the entire jar of the mixture. IT MUST BE KEPT IN THE FRIDGE DUE TO THE LIVE BACTERIA IN THE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR IF YOU CHOOSE TO ADD THIS STEP!
